Pre-Care
in the week leading up to your appointment …
Summer: In the week leading up to your appointment, make sure to keep your skin protected. If you show up to your appointment with sunburned skin, a reschedule may be necessary, which will result in the loss of your deposit.
Summer & Winter: Lightly exfoliate & moisturizer the area a few days before your appointment. Avoid spray tans.
on the night before your appointment …
The best way to prepare for your appointment is to arrive well hydrated, fed and rested.
If you can, aim for a full night of sleep the night beforehand and limit alcohol intake for 24 hours prior to your appointment.
on the morning of your appointment …
On the day of your appointment, be sure to eat a meal beforehand as well as pack snacks.
If you’re feeling a bit anxious about your appointment, a personal tip of mine is to limit caffiene intake. I usually avoid coffee the day of my tattoos to help reduce anxiety :)
Dressing in layers and/or bringing a sweater is recommended as body temperature can vary during a tattoo. We have full curtains in every booth at our studio for your privacy when tattooing hard to reach places where you may have to be exposed. Darker, older clothing is recommended as ink can be very difficult to get out of clothing should you get any on you. Wear comfortable clothing suitable to the area you intend on having tattooed, if you’re unsure of how to dress here are some suggestions for certain body parts:
LEGS: shorts, or tear away pants so you can take one leg out at a time
BACK: button up flannel/sweater that you can wear backwards, that way I can access your body and you can still be cozy
RIBS: crop top or string bikini bathing suit top, and/or nipple pasties (I have these in studio for you if you need!)
STERNUM: deep V top, crop top, or button up flannel/sweater that you can wear and leave the front open, and/or nipple pasties (I have these in studio for you if you need!)
We have a TV in each booth, or feel free to bring a book/ipad/headphones with you if you’d like! I also love to chat, so happy to meet your energy either way. Pillows & blankets are also welcome. Ongoing consent is crucial during a tattoo, and I will be checking in with you throughout the process to make sure you still feel comfortable.
Lastly, please do not plan to be somewhere immediately after your scheduled tattoo appointment. While I do my best to stay on schedule, things happen and time constraints are stressful when working on a tattoo.
